Contemporary Tiered New-Build Garden
Project Overview
Our client had recently moved into a new-build property on the Horsforth Vale estate in Leeds, where the garden lacked character and definition. They wanted the space divided into practical, usable zones that would add both function and visual appeal.
Garden Design
Our design split the garden into two clear tiers — a paved entertaining area and a lawn. Mediterranean-style white sawn sandstone paving was chosen to introduce a bright, contemporary feel, while the lower tier features a deep-pile artificial lawn edged with sleek steel borders to neatly contain the surrounding planting beds.
A bespoke lighting plan was also developed to ensure the garden looked just as impressive after dark, with subtle illumination highlighting the pleached trees planted along the rear boundary. To complete the scheme, we created a simple planting plan focused on seasonal colour throughout spring and summer, reinforcing the relaxed Mediterranean aesthetic.
